Buying a used car is always tricky as the purchaser, unless they have expert knowledge, is always at a disadvantage. However, Rob gave good advice, spent time explaining the pros and, to his credit, the cons of the options available to me. He offered what felt like a fair price for my trade-in and knocked some off the price of my new car without prompting to cover a minor piece of work that will need doing in the next month, which he didn't have to do. I'm really happy with the car I bought from HL Automotive and thoroughly recommend them if you're after a good used Ford.

12 months ago I purchased a new car from Rob at HL automotive, lovely car in the pics and was exactly as described. I took it for a test drive and subsequently brought it, something stuck with me; Rob seemed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of Ford, pros cons and a very easy manner in explaining all this to me. Something stuck with me. I’ve recently had an issue with my wipers, local garage couldn’t fix it, auto electrician neither and Ford wanted me to re-mortgage the house. I called Rob on the off chance he could help (nearly 45 miles away and 12 months on). Rob spent a good while on the phone fault finding and running through suggestions for me to try before agreeing that he’d have it back to look over, (confident he’d sort it). I paid a nominal fee to have it transported to him. Rob swapped all sorts of parts over to check for faults (extremely fortunate that he has all sorts to hand). To no avail he got his own auto electrician to look at it but with a proper diagnosis this time. Relatively simple fix and like new he had it ready for me. Rob didn’t want any money for his time or labour he just wanted to make sure I left as a happy customer. Totally unheard of in today’s climate. The service I got was outstanding and I’ve told all friends and family who will listen, I’m not one to write reviews etc but I genuinely can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you, and if anyone ever mentions Ford to me in the future I’d point them in your direction.

After a nightmare recently with cars, I came across HL Automotive via Autotrader. Rob was totally professional, down to earth with great knowledge, went through every detail of the Fiesta I was looking at to buy and I did. I've purchased cars for nearly 40 years and non have come anywhere near as close as the fantastic service I have received buying my new focus. There was no hard sale,just a genuine nice man who so so helpful. He couldn't do enough to help and nothing was any trouble. What he doesn't know about cars is not worth knowing and he didn't complicate things with a load of jargon. Explained everything in detail about the car in the simplest way. Really pleased with my Focus 1.6 Titanium but even more impressed with the service Rob provides. Had a concern not long after collecting the car and he travelled to my home address to look at problem. It ended up being nothing but it put my mind at ease and what great customer care!

What can we say? Went to see Rob after a family friend (a previous customer) recommended him about a mk6 fiesta for my son that he had advertised. Right from the start Rob came across as a friendly, professional, knowledgeable guy, who went out of his way to help us out. While storing the car for us, as we were stuck for space after we purchased it, Rob replaced some parts on it (at his own expense) which in his opinion weren't up to scratch😁. That, coupled with his genuine interest in supplying a decent vehicle, is why we will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone in the market for another car. Cheers Rob👍

For over a month I have been trying to find a petrol powered 2007-ish Galaxy in decent shape but every single one I looked at had more or less apparent flaws, my time for a family holiday was nearing, I was slowly losing hope and then, finally... I found the one I was looking for! Rob had it in his garage and it was perfect. And so was Rob's customer service. Professional and thorough. No BS. This guy knows his Fords. We saw a Ford Focus that HL Automotive were advertising in Autotrader, so we decided to pop along and have a look. It was the best decision we made! Straight away Rob came across as an honest and friendly guy, and so knowledgeable about all the cars. The Focus was in excellent condition, and even little cosmetic bits and bobs that needed doing he was happy to do straight away.
We needed the car on finance, and Rob guided us every step of the way, ensuring the sale went through in a matter of days.
Having bought our previous car from a different independent garage (and not being too impressed) we're so happy to have found someone and somewhere who we can trust not to rip us off or do a shabby job! We would definitely recommend HL to anybody!

Bought a Ford Focus Sport in Jan 2018 from Rob. He was a great help then, very knowledgeable and not pushy in the slightest. Had a few minor issues since (rear wiper spring broken and Bluetooth needing resetting - March 2019). Called Rob and he told me to drive over and he would have a look.
