I bought a 2007 Ford Focus from Rob earlier this week and I was really impressed by his honesty, professionalism and customer service. I was given all the information that I needed to feel confident in buying the car, and Rob never made me feel under any pressure. He was really helpful with all aspects of the sale, taking time to show me the HPI certificate for the car online, as well as setting up my tax once I bought the car. I am really confident that he has taken the time to ensure that the car was in peak condition when I took it on, and I will be bringing it back to him for servicing and MOT next year. Bought a 2003 Red Ford Focus off Rob about mid-august and has been running perfectly fine since and was bought in great condition for a 13 year old car. Just a few days ago (3rd Oct) the car battery had gone after lasting a long 13 years as it was an original car battery. However, after ringing up Rob he insisted that he'd buy a new one and replace it for me for free. Rob is perhaps the most trusted car dealer out there today and he will genuinely help out where he can should something happen. This is my first Ford Focus, and my first experience of purchasing a car from Rob at HL Automotive. The very honest and genuine service I received from Rob ensured not only that this sale went through smoothly, but that I will be returning to purchase again in the future.

After sales service and support are exemplary i.e. a small snag on the Mondeo was sorted as promised. He even offered the use of his own personal car (sorry, his wife's car) if the problem persisted. Had been looking for my son's "first car" for nearly two weeks. Met so many unscrupulous dealers and private sellers. Not one car I looked at matched the description in one way or another. It was so frustrating. Then I saw one of Rob's cars on auto-trader. I rang him to ask if we could come and view it that afternoon after I picked my son up from the airport. Rob was excellent, so friendly and knowledgeable. The car looked exactly like the picture and he had all the paperwork. He told my son all about the car and took him on a test drive. There was no pressure to sell. My son needed to get back to Derby the next day and Rob assured us the car would be ready to collect the next day at lunch. He polished it all up ready for my son and checked the oil, water etc. He took the time to show my son all around the car and where everything was. He couldn't have been more helpful. My daughter will be getting her first car in a year or two and I will be going back to Rob. He offers a first class service, selling quality cars which he knows everything about.

We needed a replacement car (fast) for my son when his 2.0L Mondeo Estate broke down and turned out to be too costly to repair. My wife went on-line to look for a replacement, ideally another 2.0L Mondeo Estate, and found one advertised on Auto Trader at HL Automotive. The advert was very informative, colloquial, unpretentious and was supported by lots of images of the vehicle. I telephoned Rob the following morning, introduced myself, asked if the car was still available and arranged to drive over to see it, just under 100 miles from where we live in South Yorkshire.

We bought a 2004 Ford Focus 1.6 from Rob last October. It was the first time we had bought a car from a second hand dealership and we were a bit cautious. However, when we arrived Rob couldn't have done more to put us at ease and there was no pressure to buy, he was very honest and despite our low budget made us feel very welcome. Once we found the car we liked, Rob insisted on putting new tyres on, replacing the aerial and it was like brand new inside. With 50,000 miles on the clock it was a great deal. After 6 months it is running perfectly and has just passed its M.O.T with no advisories. We are obviously delighted to have stumbled across Rob and can't recommend him highly enough. Having already owned a Ford Focus for the last five years we thought we'd get a new "Work horse" upgrade and set about looking online. After a few weeks of looking at inferior cars with little "niggles" and high prices we stumbled across H.L. automotive on Autotrader. We so we're blown away by the appearance and high standard of all his cars that we had to nip down and have a look. After driving rather dubiously down the farmers track (and thinking that surely there's no car firm down here) we turned into a Ford fanatics paradise, where Fords come to be recognized for the beauty's they are. Car after car of fantastically maintained and pampered show pieces. And Rob is the king of his Ford Kingdom. This guy is SO knowledgeable- there is nothing he doesn't know about every year of ford Focus history and he loves to share his passion and telling you all about them. He knows every spec change for every year and totally blew us away with his love of Fords.We knew THIS was the place to go to buy our car. We bought a beautiful dream machine of a Ford for a fantastic price and now have a respect [that we'd never considered before] for at least one dealership that you can buy quality at a great price. Cannot recommend Rob highly enough and know that some of that "Ford Nut" enthusiasm rubbed off on both of us and will stay with us along with our fantastic Ghia.

We were looking for two hard to find petrol Ford estates. Fortunately we found this brilliant company. We got a great deal from a great honest dealer! I purchased a Ford Focus Flight from HL Automotive in July 2015. The car was in pristine condition, both inside and out. Rob was polite and knowledgeable. He taxed the car and even changed the radio for one of my choice and delivered the car to my home. Six months on, the car runs perfectly with no repair bills whatsoever. After passing my driving test, we went about looking for a reliable Fiesta to get me started on the road. Due to its popularity there isn't a shortage of options, but it was difficult finding a balance of value between the cost and age of the car. But eventually we found an '04 Fiesta that was being sold at HL Autos; suffice to say it was the best thing that could have happened for us. Rob took our initial call and was there for us when we came to visit. He was an absolute pleasure to be around, providing all the information we needed and making us feel right at ease. There was never any pressure or other nonsense! The big difference with someone like him is that he actually cares about giving the car a new 'home' and wants the owner to enjoy their purchase, rather than going out to make a quick sale. The Fiesta we bought felt right as soon as we sat in it, with an immaculate interior and bodywork; and a sound engine. I bought a Mondeo ST off Rob before xmas. I read some of his reviews before going to view this car and was impressed straight away. After making a phone call to arrange a visit we met and I viewed the car. I was very impressed from the minute I met him, very friendly and very knowledgeable about all Ford's but mostly not at all pushy. I had been looking for a car for some weeks by this time and met some really dodgy sales men. I think Rob wanted to make sure the car suited my needs before selling it to me. I asked for time to think about it and left it at that. A week later i went back for a second look and a chat over a coffee, this time I took Zak my German shepherd dog just to see if there was enough room in the back lol. I decided it was the car I needed and made the purchase. Now many weeks later I'm still over the moon with the car and I have asked Rob to look out for an automatic for my wife.
